Dar Al Fouad
In a move to meet the need for high-quality specialized tertiary healthcare across the Arab world, SEDCO Holding has taken a 25.88% stake in Dar Al Fouad.
The tertiary healthcare institution specializes in cardiology, cardiothoracic
surgery, and organ transplants. It is headquartered in Cairo, where it operates a 142-bed hospital, and also has outpatient clinics in Kuwait.
Today, Dar Al Fouad’s 168-bed Nasr City Hospital – its second in Cairo – comprises three basement levels, ground floor, and an eight-story tower that accommodates five operating theatres and 200 physician clinics.
It was completed in 2016, along with a new Oncology Centre at the main Cairo facility. The center has a working area of 3,500 m2, with 31 beds and
17 clinics spread over four floors.
In 2016, the concern’s roster of doctors, nurses and administrators expanded to total 1,490 employees – with 241 physicians, 343 nurses, 660 administrative staff and 245 blue-collar support workers.
Bone marrow transplants increased by 39% during the year, while orthopedic surgeries increased by 17.5%, driven by investment in the roster of consultants and orthopedic subspecialties. Meanwhile, outpatient visits also rose by 5.6%.
