SEDCO Holding Launches Specialized Volunteering Program to Foster Entrepreneurial Capabilities Among King Abdulaziz University Students

Jeddah — SEDCO Holding has launched a specialized volunteering program in collaboration with the Faculty of Communication and Media at King Abdulaziz University. The objective of the initiative is to transform their students’ entrepreneurial ideas into innovative projects with tangible social impact.

The initiative is implemented under SEDCO’s “Rowad for Financial Management” program, which seeks to build a financially aware generation that is well-prepared to shape the future.

The program commenced with an introductory session delivered at King Abdulaziz University by Dr. Abdullah Al-Jaroudi, during which the program’s framework, participation approach, and intended outcomes were outlined, while also highlighting SEDCO’s commitment to specialized volunteering as a structured mechanism to develop the youth’s capacity and skills.

The program follows a three-phase structure, beginning with the Rowad Bidayah course on entrepreneurship fundamentals, followed by individualized advisory sessions and the Rowad Numou course, which provides advanced practical training in business model design, market and customer understanding, financial planning, strategic growth, and as well as legal and regulatory aspects.

The initiative will conclude with a Demo Day, during which five to six high-potential projects will be selected for presentation before a panel of volunteer mentors from SEDCO Holding and King Abdulaziz University. The event will provide participating students with the opportunity to present their ideas to expert evaluators, receive structured feedback, and gain recognition for the most distinguished and impactful initiatives.

This initiative reaffirms SEDCO Holding’s long-standing commitment to community empowerment, youth capability-building, and the promotion of financial awareness through the Rowad platform, in alignment with its sustainability strategy and broader contribution to national human capital development.
