SEDCO Holding, a leading investment company, has announced a collaboration agreement with Bab Rizq Jameel Micro-Finance during the StartSmart event at the Jeddah Hilton Hotel. The partnership aims to enhance the skills of participants in the StartSmart competition through SEDCO’s Rowad Program for Entrepreneurship, which will offer educational courses, innovative workshops, and financial management tools.
The agreement, signed by Abdulrahman AlTurjuman, Executive Director of Corporate Communications and Sustainability at SEDCO Holding, and Dr. May Omar Taibah, Director of Bab Rizq Jameel and Nafisa Shams, aims to offer Rowad courses to participants in the eighth edition of the StartSmart competition. It also includes hosting entrepreneurship workshops during the StartSmart conference, showcasing financial management products and tools at the Rowad program stand in the exhibition, and jointly promoting the competition.
The partnership aims to create a supportive environment for business growth and development while offering opportunities to empower the entrepreneurial community. Through this collaboration, SEDCO will provide Rowad Bidaya Program to applicants via the Rowad platform. Additionally, SEDCO will provide consulting and mentorship services to participating teams and visitors at StartSmart, along with hosting free public workshops during the two-day forum.
On this occasion, Abdulrahman AlTurjuman emphasized that the agreement with Bab Rizq Jameel aligns with SEDCO Holding’s commitment to nurturing partnerships and collaboration that support emerging entrepreneurs. He highlighted that this initiative reflects SEDCO’s culture of giving, focused on empowering the community, especially small and micro-enterprises, along with productive families and their members. Alturjuman added that the partnership seeks to establish a comprehensive system to empower this vital segment of society, in line with the state’s efforts to empower them and provide opportunities that fulfill their aspirations.
The eighth edition of the StartSmart competition is sponsored by the Community Jameel Foundation Saudi Arabia and organized by Bab Rizq Jameel. Entrepreneurs can compete in three categories: Startups, Social Businesses, and Environment. Winners from each category will receive cash prizes, along with additional benefits and opportunities.
The Rowad curriculum offers a comprehensive overview of essential financial management principles, covering finance, financial resources, accounting, profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, and cash flow statements. It also explores Islamic banking and key success indicators in the business world, as well as various funding types, investment readiness, business and financial models, valuation, due diligence, and investment closure.
